** Especially impressive is the performance of young C.J. Sanders,
son of former NFL wide receiver Chris Sanders, as Ray Charles when he was
a boy. His emotion-laden face fills the screen during the funeral for his
brother, and it’s a haunting picture that will stay with me. Look for
Sanders to get a Best Supporting Actor nomination.

** Rounding out the exceptional cast was C.J Sanders who played a young Ray
Charles. The scenes with Sharon & C.J brought tears to my eyes EVERY
time I saw them.

** C.J. Sanders does an exceptional job with what had to be the difficult
challenge of expressing young Ray's traumas over watching his brother die,
going blind and being sent away by his mother.

** Chris bursting with pride over C.J.'s role - Former Titans wide receiver
Chris Sanders ended up playing host to a Nashville sneak peek Tuesday of
the Ray Charles biopic, Ray. This, of course, may have something to do
with the fact that li'l C.J. Sanders, 8, son of Chris and his wife, Stacie,
plays the young Ray Charles in the movie.
** C.J. was in L.A. with mom Tuesday night, but that didn't stop proud Papa
from inviting all his friends, relatives and Titans buddies from all over
Middle Tennessee to Tuesday's screening at Hollywood 27.
** Titans wide receiver Derrick Mason was there with his awesome wife, Marci. Steve McNair's wife, Mechelle, was there as was former Oilers player Lemanski Hall. And don't even ask me about all the cousins, grandparents and other Sanders' family friends, including Channel 4 Sports Director Rudy Kalis.
** Chris, of course, was beaming. ''The thing I love most about my son,'' he said, ''is that at 8 years old, he walks in righteousness.''
