CJ currently participates in baseball, basketball, track and football. This year and last he received MVP for football. Last year he scored 30 touchdowns. This year he scored 20 touchdowns. His team won it all last year for the Junior Clinic South Valley Raiders. This year Senior Clinic went to a tounament in Vegas and swept in everything. In the long jump in track, CJ jumped 12' 2½” to qualify for the league finals. He is also the first leg of the 4x100 meter relay and they qualified for the league finals with a time of fifty-eight seconds. He is a first year bantam and is running against nine and ten-year-olds. He is the only 8 year old to qualify in the long jump and the youngest on his relay team. Last year in track he was a gremlin and finished first in the 100 meter for the league conferences. He gets his speed from both his mom and dad.
His mother went to states in track four years in a row and her school won
two out of the four years. She also played basketball at the University
of Michigan and was ranked eighth with a 92% free throw percentage. She
also received the Henry and Nancy Newlin Award for the athlete who excelled
most on the court and in the classroom. His dad qualified for the
Olmypics for the long jump, and was All-American eleven times! His
dad also broke Jesse Owens’ record in the long jump at Ohio State
University.
